An easy choice here, DeMeulenaere is not only a great scorer, but he’s a terrific shooter and scores with efficiency. His 40 percent 3-point clip paired with an 80 percent performance from the line last season was good enough to make him the best shooter in conference, arguably. As he heads into his senior season with the Plainsmen, look for the good-sized sharpshooter to average 20 points per game and be among the state’s leaders in 3s made.
First Team
2017 Brant DeMeulenaere, 6’4 SG, Belle Plaine (17.7 PPG, 40 3FG%, 81 FT%, 1.9 SPG, 5.0 RPG)
A good-sized sharpshooter who will likely be an all-state candidate by season’s end.
2017 Jacob Wickenkamp, 6’2 PG, Keota (11.5 PPG, 4.4 APG, 1.7 SPG, 5.5 RPG)
Do-it-all stat sheet-stuffer for the Eagles, Wickenkamp will lead the charge for one of the conference’s best teams.
2017 Avery Conrad, 6’4 C, Keota (10.6 PPG, 61 FG%, 8.3 PPG)
Another Eagle represented on the first-team, Conrad could lead the conference in rebounding this season, and may average a double-double.
2018 Jesse Van Wyk, G, Lynnville-Sully (10.6 PPG, 2.9 APG, 1.5 SPG, 5.8 RPG)
One of many Lynnville-Sully guys who could have been represented here, Van Wyk gets the nod because of his great rebounding numbers.
2017 Dakota Strong, 6’1 G, Montezuma (15.9 PPG, 2.9 SPG)
He could rival DeMeulenaere for the conference’s top scorer this season, and will be at the helm of one of 1A’s best teams.
Second Team
2017 Tucker Jones, 6’4 C, HLV
2018 Brevin Hansen, 5’10 G, Lynnville-Sully
2017 Tyler Van Zante, 6’ G, Lynnville-Sully
