Matt HalvorsenThe 6-foot-1 guard recently committed to Western Carolina University after a visit to campus.
Halvorsen has the ability to take over a game with his shooting from beyond the three-point line and high basketball IQ. He was named All-Carolinas Athletic Conference last season at Christ School and broke the school record for most three-pointers in a season with 111. He averaged 16.1 points per game this past season for the Greenies.
Haloversen had a offer from Brown University and a couple of Division Two offers before Larry Hunter and Western Carolina made their offer.
Halvorsen is ranked as the 23rd best 2017 prospect in North Carolina by PrepHoopsNC and will lead a talented Christ School team that should be a contender for another NCISAA 3-A state championship.
