This young man was brought to our attention by our good friend Ray over at RAM Prospects a few years backs, he spoke very highly of him and peeked our interest to give him a closer look. Last year at Word of God Christian Academy he showed some flashes of how good he can be but the depth at the guard spot didn’t allow him to show his ability on a regular basis. Cape Fear Christian was a team that made it all the way to the NCISAA 1A State Championship last year however they lost just their leading scorers and the majority of their role players to graduation. So Isaiah will be counted on to provide so much needing scoring as well as being the floor general for the squad over the next few seasons.
What makes him special?
First off this young man has a very good IQ for the game, he looks to get teammates involved and don’t hesitate about turning down good shots for great shots. Constantly playing the game with his head up and eyes always moving is something you see from Isaiah on a regular basis, he doesn’t over dribble but instead keeps the ball moving with his passing skills. His scoring ability is impressive as well, he is a knock down shooter from deep and has a nice midrange pull-up game that he knocks down consistently especially in transition. So what about defense? This young man gets after it on that end of the floor as well, he has quick hands and good lateral quickness as well which allows him to be able to contain opponents well. It is our belief that this season will be a breakout year for Isaiah as he now is finally getting the opportunity to be the go to guy for a program. He’s already receiving college interest and recently took an unofficial visit to NJIT.
