Charlotte Country Day plays in the tough Charlotte Independent Schools Conference which features defending state champion Providence Day, Charlotte Christian, Covenant Day, powerhouse Cannon School and Charlotte Latin. This conference features some of the best players in the state and a road to a state championship runs through this conference year in and year out.
Season Outlook:
Head Coach Dwayne Cherry had this to say about the upcoming season, “We are excited about the upcoming season. We had three talented freshmen on Varsity last year, two of which were starters, PG Rylan McLaurin (9pts./gm., 5ast./gm., 2stl./gm.) and PF Triston Miller (13pts./gm., 8reb./gm.). SG Myles Browner was our sixth man last season as a freshman. All three have return with the addition of outstanding sophomore shooter Alex Tabor from our JV team and sophomore transfer Deangelo Epps from West Charlotte High School. Epps is receiving interest from College of Charleston and UNCG. McLaurin is receiving interest from Liberty, while Miller boast an offer from Wofford already. Coming off a state playoff appearance last season, the young players will hopefully continue to build on that success.”
