The 5-foot-10 senior is being heavily pursued by Marietta, but says several Division I programs are still in contact with him.
“I’ve been in contact with Wright State a lot, Xavier, Rider, Purdue, Miami of Ohio, Bowling Green, and that’s it,” said Cook, who detailed the Wright State interest.
“I would say Wright State is a good one. At their camp this summer they showed the facility and I met with some of the players and they were nice, and the coaches were really nice.”
Cook says he’d be perfectly fine playing at either the D1 or D2 level, he’s most concerned with finding a place he’s comfortable at.
“D1 or D2 it really doesn’t matter. I just want to find a school that fits my style of play, and where I’m comfortable playing,” he said. “You see some guys that go D1 and they don’t really get any playing time, or they seem uncomfortable, or don’t really like their coach.”
“So I just want to find a school that I can fit in with, academically mostly, and basketball, and just a good place to be around.”
Now, as the senior leader shifts his focus towards his last campaign with the Wolverines, he says it’s state title or bust.
“We already had a little team meeting and we talked about how this year we need to stay positive and stay together,” said Cook. “And we decided we all want to win state this year, so we’ve been putting in work in the morning and work at night. And we’ve been going out together, because team chemistry is a really big thong. And I think we’re all clicking right now.”
