Quincy, Wayne State and then Sioux Falls have all offered the Valley 2017 since the end of spring, and he has a couple schools in mind that could be next to offer.
“There’s a couple programs left that have been recruiting me, Truman State and Hillsdale, which are both D2 schools. And then the University of Missouri Kansas City, which is a D1, has still kind of been talking to me.”
Crowley took an unofficial visit to Sioux Falls in mid-August before they offered. And he will be taking an unofficial to UMKC later this month. He’ll take an official visit to Quincy on September 10th, and an official to Sioux Falls in October.”
He mentioned to PHIA what’s most important in his selection process.
“Just finding a good school and a good coaching staff where I fit in, and then obviously the education part is huge also,” said Crowley.
After spending his spring and summer playing with one of the most talented grassroots teams in the Midwest, Kingdom Hoops Elite 17U, Crowley reflected on the experience.
“I love all those guys,” said Crowley. “Most of us have been together since eighth grade, and then we had guys like Ben (Juhl) who came in and just came in and fit perfectly with us and just made it an even better experience for all of us. Those guys are my favorite people in the world.”
He mentioned his role with that team.
“I think just being more of a go-to player that when we needed some points they could get me the ball. And just being a lot more dependable this year and playing a lot harder (is where I improved most).”
Now he can shift his focus to his senior season with a Valley squad that will be among a short list of 4A schools that will vie for a state title.
“With Q (Quinton Curry) tearing his ACL I’ll have a bigger role than even what I was expecting,” said Crowley. “And we have Blake (Brinkmeyer) who is arguably one of the best big-men in the state. And we really compliment each other well on the court. And we have Austin (Hinkle) coming back, and I think he’s one of the best defenders in the state.”
Ideally Crowley says he’d like to make his college decision before the season starts, but he’s not certain just yet.
“I’m thinking before the season, but I might wait to commit until Winter Break,” he said. “But I’m really hoping to commit and sign before the season.”
