In turn the 6-foot-2 guard from Westerville South has racked up three Division II offers.
Urbana was the first school to offer last year, and then West Virginia State and Malone each offered in June.
He’ll take an official visit to Malone of September 13th, but says he doesn’t have a ton of other interest right now.
“I haven’t talked to any other schools really that much, but I think once the season starts going more schools will start coming in,” said Mills.
His goal though — like many others — is to play at the highest level.
“I could see myself playing D1, so that’s a goal honestly, is just to play D1,” said Mills. “I wouldn’t mind playing Division II though.”
A versatile and good-sized guard, the 43rd-ranked 2017 says he sees himself playing point guard at the next level. But he’ll be a do-it-all guy on the perimeter for the Wildcats this season.
“I’d say I can shoot the 3 really well, and I’m a really good defender. Also, I play point guard and shooting guard, so I’m pretty versatile; I can handle the ball and shoot the ball,” said Mills. “I’m really not more comfortable at one versus the other, but I think I have a better chance of playing the one at the next level.”
After spending his 17U season honing his skills with All Ohio Black and Red, Mills is now focused on his senior season with defending state champs Westerville South. .
“Last year I was sixth-man, and this year I’ll be starting and I’ll have a way bigger role,” said Mills. “I’ll be the leader of the team and set the tone for us this year”
As for when he might make a college decision: he says he’ll wait awhile.
“I’m probably going to just wait things out,” he said. “And see if I can get some other schools interested.”
