Washington Wizard All-Star point guard John Wall, Bishop Daniels of The University of Miami and Rutgers, Dezmine Wells of The University of Maryland, Josh Newkirk of Indiana University and CJ Leslie of NC State University to name a few.
6-foot-10 center Brandon Huffman is next in line at Word of God Christian. He was recently picked to join the U.S. Select Team that participated at 2016 adidas Eurocamp. Huffman, originally from Goldsboro, North Carolina is a 230 pound rebounding machine. Huffman uses his length and big frame to alter shots and can get great position down on the block and he dunks the basketball with so much force, he almost takes the rim down. He has a old school game and is ranked as the number 6 prospect in PrepHoopsNC for the 2017 class.
He has a star-studded list of offers from college programs. Arizona State, Baylor, Charlotte, Clemson, Connecticut, East Carolina, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, East Carolina, Louisiana State, Memphis, Mississippi, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Texas Christian, Rutgers, Tennessee, Southern California, Central Florida, Utah State and VCU.
The big man played with Team Loaded on the adidas Ganulet series where he averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. At Word of God Christian Academy he will team up with 2017 Washington commit Blake Harris (ranked #4 by PrepHoopsNC), 2020 point guard Evan Johnson, 2017 shooting guard Aaron Simmons (ranked #73 by PrepHoopsNC), shooting guard Todd Smith (ranked #18 by PrepHoopsNC) and 2018 guard Zach Newkirk (ranked #30 PrepHoopsNC). Word of God will again play a national schedule to showcase all of their talent.
Huffman is a wanted big man. He said that he would like to sign in the early period (November) and be able to only focus on basketball for his senior season. Expect Brandon to pick up more offers as his senior season progresses and the need for a true old school big man grows.
