The level of play that these six young men brought to the showcase was tremendous. Team Heat Elite will be a force on the AAU circuit over the next four years as these players get older.
2020 6’3 Lucas Jenkins (Mountain Heritage HS) Agile wing that can put the ball on the floor and score, effective mid and long range shooter, strong rebounder that can defend all 5 positions and he’s not afraid to get on the floor. Runs the court well and can finish in a crowd. Plays as hard as anyone on the team and gives all-out effort.
Callin Randolph2020 5’11 Callin Randolph (Mountain Heritage HS) He is a scoring capable point guard that can handle, score from different levels, penetrate and pass or finish and likes to play up-tempo. He has a unique ability to keep everyone involved offensively and keeps the ball moving. He seems to sense when it’s time to switch gears and score the ball, if it’s needed. He’s very unselfish and sees the court from end to end. He has a high basketball IQ and can defend his position. He’s strong with the ball.
2020 6’7 Justus Shelton (Mountain Heritage) Great defensive big that is willing to mix it up. He is Yancey’s best inside defender. He understands the game at a very high level. He has a great low post game and can finish with multiple moves and is the team’s best inside passer. Good pedigree, as mother was a college All-American and played in the WNBA.
2020 6’0 Luke Stankavage (Providence Day School) Athletic scorer, Stankavage understands the game. His dad, Bruce played at LaFayette University. He will make an impact as a freshman at North Carolina Private school powerhouse Providence Day in Charlotte under head coach Brian Field.
2020 6’0 Myles Tate (Dorman High School) Tate is a pure point guard who can make all of the right plays. He has been starting at Dorman High School (4-A South Carolina Public School) since his 8th grade year. He is an athletic player with a sound shooting touch and a high basketball IQ. The speedster in the open floor has a quick first step and he is good at drawing defenses into the paint where he can score or make the easy pass.
2020 6’2 CJ Plantin (Pendelton HS) Plantin is an athletic wing.. He likes to get down the court in a hurry with his driving ability and can put the ball on the floor to get by defenders. On defense, he showed another strong aspect of his game by helping from the weak side. He has the athletic ability to block shots and cause a disturbance on defense with his length, He can attack the rim and shoot out to 3-point range.
