Updated Ohio Player Rankings: Class of 2017
After a summer of Ohio grassroots basketball, the kids are back in school. That means it’s time for Ohio to (finally) update the player rankings!
The Prep Hoops Ohio staff combined our time spent in gyms this summer with a tedious process of film study and interviewing sources to provide you with the largest base of Ohio player rankings available on the internet.
Tonight, we present the Ohio college basketball prospects in the class of 2017.
Columbus big man Sterling Manley has entered into the fringe of premier prospects. Manley joins a top five that looks familiar to our subscribers: Derek Culver, Kaleb Wesson, Kyle Young, and Derek Koch. However, there’s a ton of movement and new names in these updated rankings. Dedication has seen the stock of guys like Will Yoakum rise significantly. Likewise, injuries have dropped some prospects down.
PHOH believes this class has at least sixteen players who should land at the Division I level. In fact, there are already a number of commitments to in-state programs like Ohio State, Cleveland State, Kent State, Ohio, Toledo, and Akron.
Furthermore, other Ohio players are entering their senior year with Division II commitments under their belt — schools like Ashland, Tiffin, and Findlay are keeping coveted Ohio talent at home for college. That list of players will continue to expand, and PHOH is dedicated to updating this list as those changes occur.
The list of future scholarship athletes at all levels in this class is vast, but it’s all RIGHT HERE.
