We truly thank Coach Richards for the invite to camp, there was a nice amount of players in the building that were Division two and Division three caliber as well as a player or two that has Division one potential. Over the next two days we will discuss a few of the players that stood out throughout camp and the players that should be on the radar for college coaches.
West Bladen HS 2017 Wing 6’3 Sayaun Dent- Sayuan didn’t have the best day shooting the ball but he’s clearly a college basketball prospect, he has solid athleticism to go along with a solid frame that he uses on both ends. The key for him will be developing his ball handling skills so that he has the ability to create offense for himself more easily, Once he adds that to his game with a consistent jumper he can be a very dangerous player. On the defensive end he seems to take pride when guarding his man, throughout the camp there was not too many times where he got beat easily, NAIA and D3 schools should keep a close eye on this young man throughout the high school season.
New Life Christian Guard 5’10 Rashad Royster- Throughout the season when watching Rashad play , I saw that he was more of a scorer than facilitator for his squad, but during this camp he showed the ability to get other involved with impressive passing as well as playing solid defense. One play in particular that comes to mind is when a much taller player about 6’6 tried to go up for a dunk and Rashad blocked his shot. That’s the type of play that you can expect from him on a regular basis he plays with that type of intensity throughout games, as of right now D2, D3 and NAIA programs as well as JC schools could all be good fits for him
