Now it is Jack’s turn to led the team and we are expecting a big season from him, during the previous season he averaged about 14 Points per game and knocked down they trey ball at about 35% per game. He can shoot the ball off the dribble and off the catch with fluidity as well as solid ball handling skills that he uses to get to his spots. He has a solid frame and plays the game with a competitive chip on his shoulder, which is something that many kids these days don’t have. Due to his stellar play throughout the season he earned a D1 offer from Alcorn State, D2 schools that need a Guard that is a knock down shooter should also keep a close eye him.
New Hanover HS 2017 SG Blake Smith: With the departure of Malique Jacobs and the graduation of Accheaus Fields, the New Hanover HS basketball team will need another guard to step up and that could very well be Blake. If you’ve watched this young man play, then you already know that once he gets hot, he can knock down a very high amount of three point shots. He is what we define as a set shooter, the type of player that excels when catching and shooting while stationary instead of shooting on the move. One game in particular that comes to mind is when they played this summer at the ECI team camp in July, he knocked down about 7 or 8 threes and maybe missed a total of two, Schools that are on the D3/NAIA level should keep a close eye on him.
