We saw it in Vegas, we saw in it April in St. Cloud, and we saw it in the section play-offs. Yes Owen Chose can handle the ball fine but this young man is a shooter. A dangerous shooter from Eden Prairie High School and the Minnesota Fury.
What does Owen need to do to improve his game? He knows better than anybody.
“For myself I plan on getting better by lifting weights and being in the gym six out of seven days a week, Owen told NHR. “I have to have one rest day. As for my team I think the biggest thing is building team chemistry.
“Spending time together as a team is huge. Like going bowling or having team workouts is something I want to do. I really think it will help us as a team.”
A 16-14 record is not what one would expect from Eden Prairie but a trip to the state tournament is and the Eagles did that once again. Now Owen and his 18 points per game returns along with junior-to-be Kyler Kluge, freshman-to-be Drake Dobbs, and senior forward Will Pahl.
The Eagle guards will be talented and that’s something Chose is used to after playing with Jordan Horn and Myles Hanson all summer. The Fury experience of a 35-10 record was even more impressive when you consider the injuries they dealt with and all of their losses were to top Minnesota or national teams.
“Just getting to play against elite level guys who are really dedicated to basketball and like myself, trying to earn a scholarship and go to college for free was a great experience,” said Owen.
“That in its self has escalated my game and has helped to become a better player. I also think getting to travel across the country and to play other teams from different states has helped me a lot as well.”
Chose has six division two programs recruiting him hardest at the moment.
“I’m hearing the most from Minnesota State-Mankato, Stonehill, Harding, Missouri Western, Dallas Baptist University, and St. Cloud State,” Chose said.
“I plan to visit Stonehill, Mankato and Harding for officials. An unofficial at St. Cloud State is also planned and then an in home visit with Missouri Western.”
