His recruitment has picked up plenty since the end of his junior season, and he was able to list several Division II, Division III, and NAIA schools that have reached out to him.
“I got some stuff from Central, Simpson, Nebraska-Wesleyan, Milwaukee School of Engineering, University of Chicago, and I got a phone call from Truman State. And I went to a Simpson and Central elite camps this summer, so that’s pretty much it,” said Larson.
“Simpson and Central have both come and watched me play, and they invited me to camps in the fall. And Nebraska-Wesleyan has been sending me a lot of letters since AAU ended.”
This offseason Larson was a key piece to a talented Kingdom Hoops 17U Red squad. He mentioned several things he worked to improve.
“I always work to improve shooting, and I worked more to do it off-the-dribble, like one and two dribble pull-ups. And also getting to the basket and then driving and facilitating. Also I’ve been working a lot on my strength and my vertical,” said Larson, who mentioned what his role was with that his role was with the Kingdom Hoops squad.
“They just needed me to be an all-around player, and just knock-down open shots and create for others. And just basically do a little bit of everything and do whatever the team needs.”
Now with his senior season approaching, Larson mentioned what his role will be with a talented Tigers team.
“My role will probably just be to do a little bit of everything, kind of like in AAU. I got to score the ball, help facilitate, stuff like that,” said Larson, who mentioned some goals he’d like to achieve this season.
“Last year I was honorable mention all-conference, and this year I’m trying to get up to first-team all-conference. And I want our team to repeat as conference champions again, and then move on to state.”
As for his recruitment: Larson believes that team success will ultimately lead to better options for him.
“I’m just going to improve myself as much as possible before the season,” he said. “And then I’m going to focus on winning with my team, try and get to state, and I think everything will fall into place after that.”
