“I loved playing for the Warriors,” said Loehr. “I learned so much from Coach Derek Peterson and coach Troy Borca and made some great friends along the way.
“AAU definitely made me a better player due to the competition level. The speed of the game is faster during AAU and that makes it easier to adjust to during the high school season. Also getting to play against great teams like Dream Vision and the Wisconsin Playground Elite made me a better player as well.”
The Warriors went 44-11 this year and played some of the best team basketball around. With Luke and Alec (15.2 a game for the Irish) back after a great four months with the Warriors, the 6 win Irish have to better. Tough to see them not making improvements.
“Every week I’m in the gym working on skills like ball handling and shooting and I do weekly lifting,” Luke said in senior year preparation.
“Our team has open gyms once a week and we will have fall workouts as well as we will be playing in the breakdown fall league. And at this point it’s just a matter of trying to get the rest of our guys all on board with basketball all the way because we have a chance to have a great season.”
Luke has several options for college basketball including the D1 and D2 level. Right now four schools are showing the most interest including D2 national champion Auggie.
“At this point the schools that are showing the most interest are Navy, Augustana, Army (West Point), and Hillsdale College,” Luke said.
“I’m taking an unofficial visit to West Point Thursday and then next week I’m taking an unofficial visit to Hillsdale. An official visit is scheduled with Navy for September 9-11. And I’m working on scheduling an official visit to Augustana sometime early fall.”
