Recruiting Report: CaRondis Harris-Anderson (2018)
As he continues his trek through his high school hoops career, CaRondis Harris-Anderson knows that being patient and working on his game are virtues.
Iowa’s 21st-ranked 2018, Harris-Anderson has seen some mail come in from college programs, and has even spoken on the phone with an area Division I coach, but says his recruitment is now a priority, yet.
“I get a lot of letters from Drake and UNI, and I have a letter from Winona State also. And I actually did get a call from Drake right before the live periods in July, so the beginning of July,” said the Waterloo West guard.
“That’s actually not a big priority to me right now. The biggest priority to me is just getting better. I just tell myself all of that will come — it’s just a big, long process.”
That process was in motion this past spring and summer when the 6-foot-3 guard was playing with one of the state’s best grassroots teams, Martin Brothers 16U.
“What I’ve been improving on a lot is becoming a better shooter and ball-handler, and learning how to use my athleticism to my advantage, and reading the floor better, things like that. My shooting was a lot better with Martin Brothers this year,” said Harris-Anderson.
“I think I played pretty well this year and I think Hank (Huddleson) would say the same. And my role on the team was more of a leader-type role.”
Now, with his 16U summer completed. Harris-Anderson will shift his focus to his junior season with the Wahawks. He’s the team’s leading returning scorer, and he’s eager to get back with his high school team.
“My personal goal is to just have a better season than I had last year, and just show improvement,” said Harris-Anderson. “And my role is to be the leader of the team — I’m looking forward to it, big-time.”
