Andrew led Fury Kallman to five event championships led by the NHR State Tournament and Great Plains Alliance in June. They finished with a 41-7 record overall and an impressive 5-3 record versus the top seven teams in Minnesota and all three of their losses were later avenged.
Along the way Andrew earned scholarship offers from Sioux Falls, Bemidji State, U of Mary, Winona State, Southwest MN State, Northern State, Upper Iowa, and most recently St. Cloud State. That’s half of the NSIC that has offered Andrew.
“I’m hearing the most from Sioux Falls, Bemidji State, Northern State, Winona State, and also St. Cloud State,” said Kallman last week. “Wednesday I’m going to Winona State. Then I am setting up officials for this coming fall.”
Overall it was a great year for Andrew and the Fury.
“Meeting new teammates was a great part of the summer,” said Andrew. “And talking to the players from other teams. Also going from runner up to winning state.
“It made me a better player by learning how to deal with tougher defense, handling the ball up the court. Trusting your teammates.”
Chaska is also working on improving their 21 win season where Andrew and Myles Hanson return as two of the top three from last season.
“Three days a week I have training working on strength agility and speed,” said Kallman. “Than also get in the gym as much as possible to get shots up on the Dr. Dish. Also we have open gyms so Myles Alex and I can work with the younger guys to improve our team.”
With Kallman being this level of player you can expect to hear his name a lot with recruiting visits this fall and then involved with Chaska being a top ten team next season.
