Brown is a old school true point guard, who doesn’t need to score a lot to still help his team win games. He is quick in his change of direction, can get into the paint with ease to either pull up for a jumper or find the open man. He has a high basketball IQ with a nice frame and high level athleticism. He is a hound dog on defense and can guard up to four positions with his size. Brown had this to say about his game. “Mostly my ability to play fast pace basketball, just pushing the ball & getting transition buckets is my strength. In the half court set, I like to make my teammates better by swinging the ball & making the correct pass to get everybody involved. I love play defense, my mid range shot is very efficient & I am very athletic too.”
Brown spent this past summer playing with Boo Williams 16 based out of Virgina and under team that played the Nike EYBL circuit. He talked to PrepHoopsNC about his goals for the summer and for next season at Southern Durham High School. “My goals for the summer are to just continue to work hard & better my game for the upcoming school season. My goals for the next school season is to become the leader my team needs me to be and try to win a state championship.”
No college programs have offered Brown yet, but he has heard from Wake Forest, North Carolina-Central and Old Dominion. Over the next few months Brown will look for these characteristics in a school to attend, “When I make that decision on what school I wanna go to I would be looking at how the coaches treat thier point guards, the style of play of course, and if they have a good bio or sports medicine program because that’s what I’d like to do if basketball doesn’t work.”
Look for Brown to have another strong at Southern Durham and to again be in the names that are still left in the playoffs as the season comes to an end.
