Greenfield School finished 18-16 overall and advanced to the quarter-finals of the NCISAA 1-A Championships.
At Greenfield School, Suggs teams up with recent North Carolina commit Coby White, who is the number one ranked player in PrepHoopsNC 2019 class. The tandem of Suggs and White are great friends on the court and off. “That’s my teammate and best friend. We lead the team defensively and offensively. Our style is a fast tempo. Pick n roll for us is a automatic bucket or a trip to the line. We play very well together. We leave everything on the court like its our last game!.”
White and Suggs have one goal for this season at Greenfield School, winning a state title. “My goals for this school year is to start and finish strong academically as well as on the basketball court. Our major goal for basketball is to win a ring.” His head coach at Greenfield School, Rob Salter has high praise for Dorieon as well, “Dorieon is a very good basketball player but he is a better young man! Dorieon has a lot of potential on the court. He is a very strong and athletic player. Dorieon can shoot the ball well and he puts it in the hole many ways. His best days on the court are ahead of him on the court.”
The 6-foot-5 wing is big-time rebounder who can also score in large spurts. He describes his game as, ” I can rebound, defend well, I can play inside and out, shoot the ball very well, good IQ, athletic, and skilled type player.”
No college programs have offered the rising senior yet but that will all change with another season like last. “Colleges that have reached out to me and seem interested was East Tennessee St. ,Lee University, I just talk to Concord University today, and Barton and USC Aiken showing interest through my coach.”
After college, Suggs already has a plan in place for what he wants to do. “I look for schools to have majors like Marine Biology and biology. Because I want to be able to go to a school where I can pursue my dreams as well as play at the college level.”
