PrepHoopsNC– Who all have you heard from recently and who has offered up until now?
Brendan J. Austin– I have heard from UNCG and Hampton this summer and I currently have no offers.
PrepHoopsNC– What are your goals for the summer and next season at your high school?
Brendan J. Austin– My main goal for this summer was to get better each and everyday on some aspect of my game. Weather that was ball handling, shooting, conditioning, or getting stronger. I tried to improve on something everyday. My personal goals for this high school season are to make my teammates better, and get us all on the same page. We have a lot of new guys coming in this year and with me being the PG and a returning player, that task falls on me. Another personal goal I have for this season is to make all conference/state. The team goals I have for this year are to be conference champions, win the state tournament & get invited to the Dick’s National Tournament.
PrepHoopsNC-What are you looking at in a school when you make that decision?
Brendan J. Austin– In making my decision I’m looking for a school where my size isn’t going to be problem. I’m also looking for a school that will prepare me for life after basketball and set me up to be successful in the real world.
PrepHoopsNC– What are the most important parts of your game and can you explain your game to me?
Brendan J. Austin– The most important parts of my game are my basketball IQ, my leadership, and my toughness. To describe my game, I like to get everyone involved on offense but also knock down open shots and take advantage of opportunities when I have them. Another key part of my game is getting into people and causing havoc on the defensive end.
PrepHoopsNC– What are some things do you feel you need to work on?
Brendan J. Austin-I feel like I need to improve in every aspect of my game. A few things I could specifically improve on are my athleticism, communicating/ talking nonstop during the game, and being an extension on the coach on the floor.
