MVP: Marvin Johnson 2017 Playmakers Express Wing
Johnson had a fantastic tournament tournament displaying his great athleticism. He outworked his opponents on the boards. He was an easy pick for the MVP of the tournament. Johnson scored the ball from all three phases of the game and even included several poster jams.
First Team
Omar Boone 2017 K2A Point Guard
Boone ran the show for K2A at the Point. With the rock in his hands Boone did a great job of creating his own shot from three-point range and driving to the bucket. His best game was a 28 points performance against his normal squad, Team Griffin.
Tyreece Berry 2017 Playmakers Express Point Guard
Berry was Mr. Consistent for Playmaker Express throughout the weekend. He shot the ball really well from three-point range. Berry does a great job of getting his teammates involved, but also knowing when to step up and take a shot.
Brantly Thompson 2017 OKC Wizards Wing
Thompson’s team didn’t have a great weekend, but he had a tremendous showing against several big time teams. Thompson averaged just shy of 20 points per game in the Prep Hoops Finale. He scores the ball well driving to the basket and has improved his three-point shot making him even harder to guard.
Brady Manek 2017 Team Griffin Forward (Oklahoma Commit)
Manek was a man amongst boys on the court this weekend for Team Griffin. He shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc. The best thing Manek did on the court was dominate the boards.
Ryghe Lyons 2017 New Orleans Wolves Forward
Lyons was one of the most impressive athletes at the Prep Hoops Finale. He stands at every bit of 6’8 in the post as a stretch four. Lyons has a great mid-range game with a nice jumper, hook shot and even showed a floater. Lyons was a great rebounder in the paint. He finished well around the rim for the New Orleans Wolves.
Second Team
Burke Putnam 2017 Playmaker Express Combo Guard
Putnam used his smooth basketball skills to impress scoring the ball, distributing and playing tough defense. Putnam is one of those players that can have 20 points before you know it. He has a bright future on the court with his ability to get to the basket and make his teammates around him better.
Tye Blaine 2017 Servants Shooting Guard
Blaine has really improved at the two guard spot over the past year. At the Prep Hoops Finale Blaine lit defenses up from beyond the arc. His performances caught the eyes of a few coaches. Bethel, pulled the trigger and offered Blaine on Sunday.
Kobe Rose 2017 Oklahoma Hustlers Shooting Guard
Rose had the most impressive single game performance of the entire tournament with a 32 point outing in pool play. Rose is a lefty with a deadly jump shot. He was the leader of his squad guiding them to a quarterfinal finish in the 17U Gold Championship bracket.
Cameron Martin Oklahoma Wolfpack 2017 Post
Martin made his first appearance on the court since the State Tournament with Norman North in March. Coming off injury Martin looked a little rusty at the beginning, but by the end of the tournament he looked fantastic. Martin looked healthy as can be exploding to the rim. Expect several Division I programs to show interest in Martin throughout his senior year at Yukon.
Read Streller Game Changer Hoops 2017 Post
Streller is an intriguing 2017 Post standing at 6’8. He has only focused on basketball the past two years and still has very many raw spots in his game. The progress he has made over the past year shows he has great potential. Streller was great around the rim this past weekend rebounding and finishing in traffic.
Third Team
Hunter Lovell 2017 Team Oklahoma Combo Guard
Lovell had a big weekend for Team Oklahoma scoring the ball at a high level. He did a great job of slashing to the basket and finishing around the rim. He is not a super athletic player, but gets the job done with high IQ basketball plays.
Tyree Malone 2017 Playmaker Express Combo Guard
Malone is a 5’10 sniper from three-point range. He lit it up from beyond the arc all weekend long for Playmaker Express. He is a super quick undersized guard that can shoot and also blow past you to the bucket. Malone’s scoring talents make him an attractive player to coaches at the next level.
Cameron Hines 2017 Fort Cobb Tropics Point Guard
Hines scored the ball well for the Fort Cobb Tropics at the Point. The game of Hines is very fundamental. He has a nice crossover that keeps opponents on their toes allowing him to get separation. Hines lead the Fort Cobb Tropics to a deep run in the Silver 17U Bracket.
Greyden Steinmetz 2017 Fort Cobb Tropics Shooting Guard
Steinmetz is a scorer from the wing at 6’3. He is one of the best three-point shooters in Oklahoma. This weekend he displayed his shooting talents getting red hot in several big games. Steinmetz was a very streaky shooter that made teams pay when he got going.
Kyle Keener 2017 PWP Select Post
Keener had a great weekend defensively and on the boards for PWP Select in the paint. He blocked multiple shots per game and posted multiple double-doubles. Keener stands at 6’7 with loads of potential.
Fourth Team
Tre Edwards 2017 OKC Wolfpack Point Guard
Edwards had a great weekend running the Point Guard spot very effectively for the OKC Wolfpack. When Edwards is playing with confidence he is one of the better small college Point Guards available in Oklahoma. He found his stride against PWP Select leading his squad back from a 12-0 deficit to start the game. Edwards is a gamer on the floor.
Alex Woodruff 2017 Tulsa Hawks Combo Guard
Woodruff put together one of the best shooting weekends of any guard in the tournament. He is not afraid to pull a shot from way beyond the three-point line and often times he made it. Woodruff did a good job of getting to the rim at times as well.
Jeffery Oxford 2017 Showtime Wing
Oxford is as strong as a bull for a two guard. He is not the tallest wing nor the fastest, but is one of the best at getting to the rim and going up strong. The toughness of Oxford shined all weekend long.
Reginald Vaughn Jr. 2017 Colorado South Central Elite Wing
Vaughn was impressive throughout the tournament shooting the basketball at a high level. He has good height at 6’4 and a great build. Vaughn got to the rim a bit as well. He mainly excelled shooting jumpers from mid and three-point range.
Dalton Vinson 2018 Team Griffin Forward
