So we will do our best to try and catch you guys up on some of the April and late signee players from the Eastern Side of the state of North Carolina.
Tyrique Mclain (Fayetteville State): Tyrique turned heads over the past two years with some major scoring numbers, he also has impressive athleticism and the tools to be a good defender. Only time will tell how well his game will translate to the CIAA but we expect him to develop well over time and become a solid player for FSU.
Noah Cummings (Grambling State): At 6’10 Noah is a young man that you can’t help but notice when he walks into the gym, he possess soft hands and is also a skilled player that can potentially be very good. They key will be for Noah to get in the best shape possible and allow Coach Walker to coach him so that he can reach his potential, he is one to keep a close eye on over the years.
Josh Mullins (NC A&T): Josh is definitely a player that was a sleeper prospect, averaging over 20 Points per game at Nash Central, he still did not receive a D1 offer until close to the end of the summer. With that being said, the schools that overlooked will truly regret it, he’s 6’3 with a long wingspan, good defensive skills and outstanding athleticism. Look out for him to be a force at NC A&T
Damani Applewhite (SC State): Damani is a young man who has come a very long way in the past 2 years, he has a very long wingspan and at 6’7 has the versatility to play multiple positions on the floor. He can step out and shoot the ball well but also has some back to the basket moves, he will need to add on some pounds while in college but we expect big things from this young man at SC State.
