Jimmie Sanders III is one of those that would fit the bill. Averaging nearly 24 points and 6 assists per game at Neuse Charter School this past season. Sanders has transferred to Wayne Country Day for his senior season. “My goal for the remaining summer is to continue to get stronger and put on weight. This highschool season I am looking forward to leading my new Wayne Country Day team to a state championship.”
His recruitment is limited right now to a handful of Division Two schools with zero offers but with a big senior year that may change.
A rising senior, Sanders is a pass first guard that always gets him teammates involved and has a very high basketball IQ for his age. “I think the most important part of my game is my basketball I.Q. I know I am the smartest player on the floor and I can lead guys in the right direction. My game starts with defense. I’m going to pick up 94 ft and be a pest. Offensively I can run a team but I can also score. I’m always on attack mode.”
A 1,000 point scorer through his first three seasons of high school basketball Sanders is quick off the dribble, has a ability to score in a variety of ways and is a bulldog defender.
Sanders in my mind, will be efficient at the Division Two level and probably have a chance to start for four years and be a valuable player at a school for that level. “I’d be looking at a coach who wholeheartedly believes in my game. Someone who will allow me to do what I can do and a high academic school.” Sanders will make a great addition to a lot of Division Two schools, he will have a chance to thrive for four years.
