Even with little exposure last season as junior, Voves has been a key player the past two summers with Iowa Mavericks Purple, and has generated some recruitment because of it.
“Recently I was contacted by Rose-Hulman, Bethany Lutheran in Minnesota, my coach told me Wartburg was interested, and then UW-Platteville,” said Voves.
“I’ll be going to the Sioux Falls elite camp, and then the Central Missouri one,” said Voves. “And then I think I’m going to take a visit to (UW) Platteville University, and then maybe take another visit to Central Missouri after that.”
With just one tournament left in his grassroots career to showcase himself, Voves mentioned to PHI that his recruitment has become a priority for him.
He’ll be playing at the Las Vegas Classic this weekend with the Mavericks.
“It’s becoming more of a priority for me. I notice it a lot more, and I really want it to get better and for more coaches to notice me,” said Voves. “This week is the last tournament we play in, and I’m going to go all out and see what I can do.”
Then Voves will shift his focus to high school ball, where he’ll play a substantial role with the Lions this winter.
“My junior year I was really just there for the little things,” said Voves. “But this year the coaches want me to be more of a leader, and someone to set the example for other players.”
