He’s currently Iowa’s 36th-ranked 2017, and has shot up the list since making his debut last year. Still college coaches are mostly unaware of the under-the-radar talent.
“Recently I’ve heard from Simpson, and then Morningside, but that’s it. I’ve gotten letters and calls from Simpson, and just letters from Morningside,” said Glenn, who knows this July could be a big month for his recruitment.
“I’m definitely trying to show the best part of my game this July. I’m just going to go out there and play with intensity and play hard.”
A lengthy shooting guard, with sharpshooting ability, Glenn says his ball-handling and subsequently creating his own looks off the dribble have improved greatly this spring while playing with Kingdom Hoops Elite 17U.
“I can definitely get my shot off a lot easier now because I can create a lot more space with my dribble,” he said. “And I feel like I have a better basketball IQ than I used to.”
Last season Grand View Christian qualified for the state tournament, and Glenn led the team in points (15.6), assists (4.3), and steals (3.9). He says this winter his focus will shift to being an emotional leader on the floor.
“I’m definitely going to be the leader this year,” he said. “I was one of a few juniors last year, but this year I’m going to lead and make sure we are focused every single day and every single practice.”
In the meantime, he’ll play some important July live period events with one of Iowa’s premier grassroots teams, Kingdom Hoops Elite 17U.
“I want to just kind of prove to everyone that I’m one of the best players in Iowa,” said Glenn. “And then hopefully get a couple offers from coaches.”
