Standing at 5-foot-11, the Northwest Guilford HS rising senior is a pass-first floor general. Built with a passion for setting his teammates up before himself but has the ability to score on his own. “I am a true point guard, the most important part of my game is getting the ball to the open man and making plays.
Team CP3 finished with one of the best records on the Nike EYBL circuit this summer and are primed for a Peach Jam title this week. “I am just trying to get better each day and help my team get a title at Peach Jam.” CP3 is in the quarterfinals of the Nike finale and take on California Supreme today, July 9th at 11:30. He had 8 points in a 83-77 win over E1T1 United in a first round win yesterday to advance. He is averaging 5.2 points and nearly two assists so far through Peach Jam.
Spicer has a knack for passing, he averaged nearly 9 assists per game last season at Northwest Guilford HS in Greensboro, NC to go along with 12 points per game. He along with rising junior Tre Turner helped lead Northwest Guilford HS to a 23-4 record and to the third round of the NCHSAA state playoffs.
Spicer has picked up offers from UNC-Greensboro, North Carolina A&T, Hampton and Florida International. VCU, WCU, Appalachian State, and Murray State have expressed interest lately. “My goal for the summer is to get better as a player, and decide where I would like to go to college. When I make my decision I am looking at a aspects of the school such as athletics, environment and of course what I want to major in.”
With another year at Northwest Guilford HS coming up, Spicer will continue to to get better and will get more offers from colleges that know what type of unselfish player and a leader that he is.
