July brings ample opportunity to perform in front of a plethora of coaches and that remains true for some prospects in Louisiana that are in need of eyes or on the cusps of drawing offers from new levels.
Davontavean Martin (6’4 G, New Orleans Elite) – Martin will be running with NO Elite in July as he did late in May. As an ultra explosive guard with the ball handling ability to get anywhere, he could see his offer list expand exponentially.
Larry Owens (6’8 PF/C, Louisiana Elite) – Owens is a big man who can step out when needed but has the body to really wreck havoc around the rim on both ends. LA Elite will get plenty of eyes after their great Spring and he will benefit from it.
David Williams (6’7 PF, Elfrid Payton Elite) – Williams got increased interest easy in April and with multiple periods in July to prove himself, should see local schools calling. He can score on the block and rebounds out of his area on a consistent basis.
Caleb Daniels (6’3 SG, Elfrid Payton Elite) – Daniels will finish July with EP4 and should benefit from the way they play. He’s got all the tools, skills, measurables, and athleticism to be a real difference maker. Once the production follows this month, he’ll get increased interest.
Tylan Dean (6’0 G, LA Select – Team Millsap) – Dean knocks down shots like very few are really capable of. The interest level of low majors and even beyond has continue to grow but the first offer has yet to hit. Once he proves he can play with the ball too, they will come.
Davantre Vitor (6’1 G, Lake Charles Cavs) – Vitor had an explosive April and May and will look to continue that growth with a big July. With the competition level and number of coaches present likely to take an uptick, Vitor will get his chance to prove his ability.
Raylon Hardy (5’10 PG, NOLA Wolves) – Hardy hasn’t backed down from a single challenge and led the Wolves to a very impressive summer thus far. With some big events ahead of him in July and his ability on the ball, interest is sure blow up.
Jamel Robinson (6’2 G, Louisiana Elite) – Robinson is a lefty who can do it all on the court. Always willing to put his body on the line, the late developer has really rounded his game out with an explosive leaping ability and more consistent jumper.
J’Son Brooks (6’7 F, LA Blazers – SW Louisiana) – Brooks is a very intriguing prospect with the ability to play on the wing or down low. For his HS squad he often brings the ball up the court and has an impressive looking stroke from outside. He has the size to play inside but can defend the perimeter equally as well.
Brooks Murrell (6’5 G/F, LA Select – Team Millsap) – Murrell is a sneaky athlete with a smooth stroke and an impressive frame. Once he gets more comfortable on the court and is more willing to play free, coaches will have no choice but to start calling.
