PG Jared Bynum | Georgetown Prep 2018
Jared Bynum led Prep with 27 points. He hit 6 three pointers, both off the catch and from the bounce. Bynum demonstrated a very tight handle and the ability to pull up on a dime and hit consistently from long range. He also got into the lane and finished with ambidextrously touch around the basket. His ability to control pace and get into the lane and create was instrumental for Prep in their elite 8 victory vs. St. Mary’s Ryken.
SG Casey Morsell | St. John’s 2019
Casey Morsell stepped up big time for St. John’s. He hit 5 timely threes on his way to 20 points. Morsell exhibited a great deal of toughness and poise. Morsell fought for loose balls, got in the passing lanes, and hit some big shots for his team. The future looks bright for the talented rising sophomore guard.
CG Emanuel Hylton | St. John’s 2017
Emanuel Hylton scored a team-high 21 points in a win vs. Wise. At 6-foot-3, Hylton is a strong guard with a nice all-around game. He got into the lane and finished consistently in traffic. Hylton has great vision and passing skills, and he also rebounds well from his position. He demonstrated the ability to hit from long range from the catch and off the dribble.
SF Ross Young | Sidwell Friends 2017
Ross Young was absolutely relentless around the basket. He crashed the offensive glass hard, and finished strong through contact. At 6-foot-6, Young is a versatile forward who can defend at the rim, run the floor, and rebound. His motor was consistent, and he was highly productive. Young recorded a team-high 20 points.
SG D.J. Mitchell | St. Vincent Pallotti 2017
D.J. Mitchell hit 5 three pointers on his way to a team-high 26 points. The skilled 6-foot-3 shooting guard was prolific from the catch. He mixed it up nicely and attacked the basket where he seeked and constantly converted in the lane through contact. Mitchell also did a nice job on the defensive boards and pushed it aggressively in the open court.
CG Wynston Tabbs | St. Mary’s Ryken 2018
Wynston Tabbs demonstrated a high skill level along with intriguing explosiveness on his way to 22 points for Ryken. The athletic, 6-foot-2 lead guard is a crafty handler who has the ability to pull up on a dime and hit from long range. Tabbs demonstrated a soft touch around the basket with either hand. He also showed off his athleticism with a highlight and-1 dunk in traffic.
CG Michael Speight | Wise 2017
Michael Speight has been one of the top scorers at BSN Summer League. Friday was no different, as he went for 22. Speight is a sharpshooting 6-foot-3 guard who has the ability to put it on the floor and finish consistently around the rim with either hand. He absorbs and finishes through contact. Speight moves well without the ball, and fills the lanes correctly in transition.
CG Ryan Allen | DeMatha 2017
Ryan Allen went 5 for 5 from long range on his way to 20 points for DeMatha. Once his feet are squared up, Allen has the ability to hit from long range at a high percentage. He dug in defensively, where he blocked shots and recorded several deflections and steals. Allen showed off his athleticism in the open court with a forceful one-handed dunk.
CG Jamir Moultrie | Bishop McNamara 2017
Jamir Moultrie has put on a scoring exhibition during the BSN Summer League Playoffs. He followed up a 31 point performance last night with 27 in a win for McNamara. Moultrie is an assassin from multiple areas on the floor. It all starts with his ability to shoot efficiently from the catch or off the dribble with seemingly in the gym range. From there, Moultrie does a nice job mixing it up and attacking the basket. He’s an ambidextrous finisher who doesn’t mind traffic in the lane. Moultrie’s toughness translates defensively, where his instincts and anticipation skills are excellent.
