Team: CornSharks 15U
Program director: Dave Morris
Record: 22-18
Best Finishes: Two second place finishes
Team MVP: Trey Hinote 13.9 ppg 40% from 3. He is very skilled can pass it, handle it, shoot it. Has really developed his leadership skills and ability to run a team from the point guard spot. Has had a great spring
Biggest surprise: The way the team came together each and every week. We play a pretty organized defense and never have a practice with kids involved in so many activities. The way they move the ball and share it is amazing and fun to watch. We have great balance, have four players avg. at least 8.5 ppg as a team we shoot 36% from three.
Best Defender: Trey Hinote and Justin Aspengren usually take on the challenge of the best players but our team pressed and switches a lot. Trent Williams and Ryan Bellcock of done a lot of great things on the defensive end. Ryan is a very good rebounder, Trent is physical, Justin can guard multiple positions.
Best Moment: Kings of the Court we got a opportunity to play a team that in our second tournament together beat us by 20 in that game. In the Kings of the court we played them again and beat them by 25. We have won 20 of our last 28 since that moment.
Evaluation: We really came along nicely in the spring. Started 2-10 from there the kids figured out the faster we played and the more we pressed the tougher we are. We have found that the IQ of the team is very high and for as fast as we play we only avg 12 TO a game and have had numerous games shooting nearly 50 percent from 3. Very fun team to coach.
