Continue ReadingArizona basketball fans have been enormously blessed the past couple of years. They have had the opportunity to watch some of the Nations top talents in state. Timothy Allen, 6’6″ SF/PF of Desert Ridge High School, has earned the right to have his name mentioned not just with the state’s top players, but with the nations top players.
In face, Allen just recently finished participating in the Pangos All-American Basketball Camp where he earned honorable mention honors. Allen has been tearing up in state opponents at an alarming rate for a Sophomore as he averaged almost 22 points per game and almost 10 rebounds per game. On the national circuit, he has enjoyed tremendous success as well.
His game is quite intriguing as he has the body, footwork, and hands to take players on the block. In addition, he has a good first step which he is working on to make it a great first step, above average quickness, a strong frame, and an ability to shoot the basketball from deep. Moreover, he takes care of business off the court as Allen offers potential suitors a 3.6 GPA. This puts him in a great position to be able to attend an array of schools. Due to his abilities on and off the court, Allen will continue to receive college interest.
As it currently stands, Allen has received offers from, “Portland State, GCU (Grand Canyon University), New Mexico State, Nebraska, Creighton, ASU (Arizona State University), UC-Irvine, Cal State Northern, Fresno State, UCLA, USC (University of Southern California), and Tulane.”
This list is quite impressive for a young man who has just recently completed his Sophomore year of high school. However, he has received plenty of interest from other potential suitors like, “Arizona, SDSU, Weber State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Gonzaga, and Alabama.” I think it is safe to assume that after his most recent performances, he will be adding interest as well as scholarships.
Allen is still relatively open as far as his recruitment is concerned. He does not necessarily have a criteria as far as what he is looking for in a school as he noted, “[I just want to go] wherever I can fit in best.” In addition, location does not play a factor at this point as he is “just seeing what options I have.”
His focus is not on trying to attract suitors; rather, it is on trying to win games. His goal for the live period is to “Win as many games as possible while performing to the best of my ability.” Allen is the type of young man who always finds a way to impact a game and seems to typically find himself of the winning end of games. He is a top tier talent with a great motor and work ethic. He will most likely sign with a High NCAA Division-I school.
