Moliere mixed in with 4.7 points per game in a key role as the Tigers made it all the way to the 5A state semifinal. At 6’0″, 175 lbs., he has already put on 15 lbs. of muscle since the end of last season. He looks stronger and faster and is starting to mix it up more down low as an attacker.
In talking about Jesuit’s run last season, Moliere had this to say.
“This past season was a memorable one. Not many players can say they made it to the state tournament. I was a key player for my team. This past season showed me how hard I have to work to go back there. I learned that every game you have to bring it and you have to be consistent. High school season was great and I want to be able to go further in the state tournament next year.”
How would he describe his own game?
“I’m a combo guard who can play the one and the two. I train to be a basketball player and that means I know how to do everything. I can handle the ball with pressure. I’m getting even more athletic and am able to go right around my man and kick it out for a shot or make a hard tough layup. It all depends on what the defense is giving me. I’m a lockdown defender and have improved my outside shot. I shoot the ball every day to get my shot more consistent.”
Moliere plays AAU ball for coach John Arroyo at Skill Center Elite.
“We’re a non-sponsored team. I think we’re the best team out of Tampa. We’re a family and really good team. AAU season has been going great, we play a lot of the top teams in my class and we are able to compete with every single one of them. Even with AAU going on I also train with Akii Dean. I’m working during the summer to get better and get ready for high school ball.”
Moliere has yet to receive his first offer, but as he heads into his junior season I fully expect him to generate plenty of interest. He is noticeably stronger at the point of attack and is willing to mix it up down low for the hard points.
