Moorman is a 6-foot-8 inch, 210lb small forward who is ranked by Prep Hoops North Carolina as the 2nd best prospect in the class of 2017.
He already has 12 offers at the next level that include VCU, UAB Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Virginia Tech, Presbyterian, College of Charleston, Maryland-Eastern Shore, North Carolina A&T, Richmond, UCF & UNC-Greensboro. Moorman states, “Richmond, UAB, Temple, UCF and Cincinnati have been on me the most lately.” He says he will start to take a closer look at the schools he has offers from in August and start planning visits.
With a college-ready body and size Moorman can defend up to four positions on the floor. One of the most versatile players in North Carolina, the rising senior posseses great ball handling skills and can score in a variety of ways. Moorman is the do-it-all guy that puts in the dirty work to make sure his team gets it done until the buzzer sounds
Playing on the Nike EYBL circuit with Team CP3 has also been a big recruiting tool and he says they (Team CP3) have a great shot at winning Peach Jam. He is averaging 9.2 points and 5 rebounds per game on the circuit for Team CP3 and has helped lead them to winning their Division ahead of Peach Jam in Augusta, Ga.
At NCISAA powerhouse Greensboro Day, who won the NCISAA 3-A title a year before, Moorman averaged 14 points per game and led the Bengals to the state semi-final game, a loss to Kentucky bound Edrice Adebayo and High Point Christian Academy. The loss put Greensboro Day at 28-5 on the year. Moorman was named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-State last season.
