His recruitment though has not yet started to take form, though there is one area Division I program taking notice.
“Towson has shown some interest, but that’s really it. They’ve texted and emailed,” said Burke, who hopes to turn some heads this summer on the 16U circuit.
“My recruitment is important to me right now, it’s big. And I’m hoping that I can work hard enough and play good enough that it will all show when July comes.”
A self-described “floor general,” Burke explained his playing style and strengths and PHM.
“I do like shooting off-the-dribble, coming off screens. And I consider myself a floor general, I like to get my teammates involved in the game, and letting people know where they need to be and just getting my teammates in rhythm,” said Burke, who started last season as a sophomore with the Saints and averaged 15.2 points, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
“I think I had an OK season, I could have been more aggressive in my opinion, and attacked the basket more though.”
He takes the momentum of his strong sophomore campaign into his summer months with Team District 16U.
“I think I’ve gotten stronger with my left hand, it’s way better than it was. I’ve been working on it enough to where it’s my strong hand,” he said.
“And I’m hoping to get a couple offers this summer. I don’t really even care which level it is, just any offers. And then I just want to leads my team to some championships.”
