His father William Lee Turner Jr played wide receiver at NC State University. That bloodline Tre’ has turned him into one of North Carolina’s top two-sport athletes.
Last season at Northwest Guilford High School, Tre’ averaged 19 points, 3 steals, 3 assists and 6 rebounds per game leading them to a 23-4 record and 9-1 in conference. He poured in 24 points and 29 points in two playoff games at the end of the season. He scored 10 touchdowns and had 990 receiving yards on the football field.
Eventually the day of having choose one sport over the other will come but for now his future is bright in both. “Of course I want to hoop at the next level, but all of the schools that offer me want me to play both sports so I guess that is what I will have to do. My dream is play college basketball though.”

Turner is ranked as the number 7 prospect by Prep Hoops North Carolina in the 2018 rankings (see below) and is ranked as the 7th best football prospect in 2018 by 247 Sports. He plays travel basketball with Team CP3 16’s and has had a strong summer so far, He is a shooter, can knock it down consistently anywhere on the floor. He already has a college-ready frame to go along with length and athleticism, has a knack for rebounding, can score off the dribble or hit the pull-up jumper. Has almost the same stroke as his brother PJ Hairston.
