Continue ReadingBrennen Davis, a 6’4 Sophomore PG/SG/SF of Basha High School, is an intriguing prospect for the next level. He has great length, athleticism, and an above average ability to shoot the basketball from deep.
Davis has a long time to go prior to having to make a decision as far as where his next destination will be; however, he has sparked a lot of interest due to his skill set and unteachables.
As it currently stands, Davis does not have any scholarship offers, but he has received interest from a number of schools. The list of schools who appear to appreciate his services at this point include, “Loyola (Chicago), Pepperdine, St. Mary’s, U of Massachusetts, University of California Santa Barbara, and Rice University.”
Davis does not have any official or unofficial visits planned at this time. With that said, he is planning on attending the “Pepperdine camp in June”. He hopes that the interest level picks up from the potential suitors; in addition, he is “going to start reaching out to schools that [he’s] interested in.”
Davis will be relied on much more heavily next year on a team that is full of talented players who contribute. One of the toughest things about playing Basha is the amount of depth the team possesses. However, they lose some key big men and pieces which should open the opportunity for Davis to continue to improve his college stock while contributing to the team’s success.
“Basha is going to have a solid team. Losing our big men will change how we play a little, but we have good guards,” said Davis as he was asked about his expectations for next year.
In addition to being excited for another successful high school campaign, Davis has some goals as far as club basketball is concerned, “during the live period I hope to get looks from colleges that I’m interested in.”
This is a huge summer for a talented prospect like Davis. The jump from being an underclassmen to an upperclassmen not only impacts his recruitment, but also his role on this talented team as he will be expected to do more things.
