They opened the day with a 50-44 victory over New Orleans Elite before beating the New Orleans Rising Stars, 66-59, in the semis and capped off the tournament with a 52-41 win over Team Portis Wings Elite.
2018 point guards Jimel London (East Ascension) and Ferontay Banks (Comeaux) fueled EPE’s efforts on both ends creating offense and locking in defensively. Both consistently used their handle to get in the paint with London looking to distribute while Banks posed more of a scoring threat.
Banks’ high school teammate 2018 W Devaughn Thomas also showed off his ability to score around the rim and knocked down a few long range jumpers as well. St. Paul’s 2018 W Parker Edwards was also a threat from deep while Southern Lab’s Azharen Ernest anchored the paint defensively with his size and athleticism.
