2017 Abe Kinrade, Iowa Barnstormers (Maquoketa): Thin frame, but works hard to intiate contact and box out to contribute on the glass.
2017 Bailey Basala, Barnstormers (North Scott): Canned a corner 3 while catching and rotating hips on the catch and in the air to get square. Hit a corner 3 under major contest and duress. Comfortable pushing after a rebound. Little righty hook from the middle of the paint that was effective.
2017 Austin Phyfe, Barnstormers (Waverly-Shell Rock): Very good verticality in transition defensively that saved a basket.. Soft hands, able to catch tough passes in the post. Very physical in establishing position and in finishing at the rim. Showed 3-point range potential.
2017 Kelvin Miller, Barnstormers (Davenport Central): Explosive leaper. Mid range jumper that he used consistently. Lots of hangtime when going at the rim. Extremely quick with a nice handle that he can knife through the defense with his size and speed. Quick release on shots from distance.
2017 Joe Smoldt, G, Barnstormers (Gladbrook-Reinbeck): Has a good stroke from range. Manages the game very well from the point guard position, getting his team into offense and acting as a settling force.
2017 Austin Ash, Iowa Barnstormers (Mount Vernon): Hunts his shot well, can get to the rim. Tough kid who didn’t shy away from contact despite getting pushed around a bit.
2018 AJ Green, PG, Barnstormers (Cedar Falls): Midrange jumper off the bounce that was lethal. A very good post entry passer, putting nice touch on the delivery. Quick hands on defense. Shot in rhythm from 3-point range in transition. Establishing himself as one of the premier prospects in the state.
2018 Joe Wieskamp, G, Barnstormers (Muscatine): Picture-perfect jump shot. Recognizes when to attack the rim – isn’t overly reliant on his range. Smart finisher around the rim, able to go around length and contests even when help comes. Not necessarily an above-the-rim athlete, but certainly could see him develop that skill as he’s athletic and long enough that he does it occasionally.
2018 Elijah Hazekamp, G, Barnstormers (Bishop Heelan): Smart in the open court, used the rim as protection from a shot blocker. Nice little running righty floater. Attacks the rim in transition beautifully. Midrange jumper off the dribble. Three point range. Handled himself in the post against much bigger competition.
