Romin Williams is one of the top point guards in Louisiana in the class of 2017 and it shows each and every time he steps on the court. His play has improved consistently throughout the years. At 5’10 and plenty of athleticism, there aren’t many guards who can trouble him on either end.
This summer he’s shown off his leadership, defensive ability, and has run the offense like you’d ask any point guard to do. His scoring comes and goes but he has shown that when it is needed, he can step up. The next phase is getting stronger and improving his athleticism even further while working on the midrange and floaters to get shots off in the lane against bigger players.
There is rarely someone standing across from him that’s tougher on the court than he is. That mentality and his leadership is what got him the offers from Loyola (NO) and Northwestern State. He’s also heard consistently from Southern Miss, South Alabama, VCU, Cornell, and Missouri.
He was named to the LSWA Class 2A All-State 2nd team after averaging 21 points on the season. He was also named to the LHSAA Top 28 All-Tournament team after losing in the semifinals of Class 2A to district rival Riverside. The Country Day product who plays his summer ball with New Orleans Elite has a 3.7 GPA with a 24 on the ACT already.
