One of those prospects in Nathan Reuvers who locally we are all well aware of after his standout junior season leading Lakeville North to the state championship game. The 6-foot-9 Reuvers added offers from St. Joseph’s, Clemson, and Washington State over the weekend and he continues to grow.
“I’m working at getting better at the little things,” Nate said in Dallas. “I have a high skill level, but it is all about being more physical. I’m not as big as other guys on the court so I have to be physical and go up and snatch rebounds.”
Reuvers now has 19 scholarship offers with seven of them coming from high major programs (He also has offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, DePaul, Creighton, etc) and others are watching him close.
“I am going to see where I am at at the end of April and see if I want to cut things down after that. I have made about 15 unofficial visits.”
Reuvers is of course closest to Minnesota.
“It is about 30 minutes from my house so I went to a lot of games and they have always treated me well. They didn’t have a great year this year, but they have good guys coming in so I think the future is bright.”
Many know that Reuvers has a connection to Notre Dame and they had an assistant watching Reuvers and others that the D1 Minnesota program was competing against.
“Every year I go (to Notre Dame) for football games. I’ll be down there for most of the home games this year and it is really cool to be recruited by them since I grew up watching them.”
The other program that people talk about around here is Wisconsin who has also offered Nathan.
“They have been to the tournament basically the last 18 years. They talk to me about the success they have had with Minnesota guys and they are really telling me about that.”
