The 6-foot-1 2017 is spending his summer running with Boo Williams 17U and that exposure could catapult him into a slew of additional inquiries.
“I have offers from Howard and Norfolk State right now. And I have interest from Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas State. I’ve picked up some interest from Robert Morris recently, and I can’t recall any others right now,” said West.
“The Howard coach is on me the heaviest right now, he’s telling me that I could come in right away and be major piece for the team, and he’s looking to bring me in to replace their point guard.”
One of DMV’s best point guard prospects. West prides himself on being a true point guard, and a floor general. He defined his playing style to PHM.
“One of my best strengths is I can shoot the ball from NBA range, my passing ability, my handle, and I’m a pure point guard who likes to get his teammates involved. I’m just a floor general,” said West.
“Right now I would say my strength, speed and defensive quickness are things I need to improve.”
He averaged 16 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds per game last season as a junior, and he’ll take that momentum into his 17U season with Boo Williams.
“I felt like they were the best fit for my as a program and team-wise,” said West, who played with DC Premier last summer. “
“I really was contemplating going back to DC Premiere, but this was really just the best fit at the moment. I just plan to get more exposure over the summer and spring and I’m just trying to get better every day and get more offers.”
“I’m just really trying to get my name out there more than it has been, and just get better everyday to prepare myself for my last year of high school, and college.”
