“It’s been really good,” said Sorenson of his 17U campaign thus far. “For myself I feel like I have gotten better already playing against the competition, and practices are tough playing against such good players all the time. Our team is really coming together and playing well winning a lot of games.”
So far Sorenson and D1 Minnesota have won 12 of the 13 games they have played and rank with the best teams in the country. What is next for Sorenson this spring?
“I would say just keep improving on my defense because a lot of people know I can shoot the ball and score, so just showing I can defend at a high level and just also keep communicating on the floor a lot so I’ve been working on that.
“I feel like I’ve improved on my strength which is helping my defense and also just pushing the ball up the floor faster and making the right play I feel like those things have improved.”
Jack has picked up offers from Toledo, Sam Houston State, South Dakota State, and Ole Miss over time. What schools are contacting him the most after the two open period weekends? Sorenson informed us last night.
“I’ve heard from Ball State, Toledo, South Dakota, South Dakota State, George Mason, Nebraska-Omaha, Drake, Wofford, and Wisconsin-Milwaukee this month,” Sorenson told NHR.
There will be a time to worry about college basketball later, right now Jack is simply concerned with what is ahead in the coming months.
“I want out team to continue to win and have success, plus just keep improving my game all summer and play at a high level these last tournaments.”
Sorenson is coming off a winter where he averaged 23.2 points per game leading the Lakeville South Cougars to 18 wins.
