He‘s spending his spring and summer playing another year of 17U ball before he makes his final decision, but says he recently visited a Texas D2 school and liked it.
“I received an offer from West Texas A&M on a visit, and I’m about to go visit Nebraska-Kearney too, but right now I’m just trying to play some AAU and have fun for the summer,” said the 6-foot-5 wing.
“I just hope I get a D1 offer, that’s what I’m playing for. I just got back from West Texas (A&M), and I’ll sign with them if I’m not able to get D1 offer. But right now I just have the two D2 offers and some JuCos.”
Kueth says if it came down to D2 vs. JuCo, he’d prefer to take the D2 scholarship.
“It seems like D2 is the better choice right now, some people I know get stuck at JuCos, and I don’t want that to happen,” said Kueth.
His skill-set was on full display during Midwest Live while playing with Pure Prep 17U. A smooth jumper with an increased ability to handle the ball pairs with good height and great length.
“I’ve been working on making my dribble tighter, and my jump-shooting and my finishing,” said Kueth. “Normally I would get the ball in the post and I could dribble a little bit, but now I can bring the ball up the floor and I’m really comfortable playing the two guard and I can play that at the next level.”
Last season after a quiet start with Roosevelt, he had a strong finish, and ended with averages of 14.3 points (58 FG%), 1.8 blocks, and 8.4 rebounds per game.
“I just got used to having to do that for the team, just having to score more,” said Kueth. “The beginning of the season was really upsetting so I really worked on my free-throws, and my finishing and my ball-handling and that helped a lot.”
