He has no recruitment yet, but says he’s happy with how he played his junior season while coming off the bench, and knows it just takes one coach to notice him to get the ball rolling.
“I just haven’t been noticed yet. I was like the sixth-man off the bench to help scoring when needed, and I think I did well,” said Yost.
“It’s (recruitment) is a really high priority and it only takes one coach to really notice you and it can snowball from there, so that’s my goal.”
The under-the-radar point guard went on to define his playing style to PHM.
“I would consider myself fundamentally sound, I don’t make a whole lot of mistakes. I make smart plays and I shoot the ball pretty well. And I don’t turn the ball over a lot,” said Yost.
“I’d say my first step and quickness is something I’m looking to improve. I’ve been jumping rope a lot and just working on my ball-handling and overall quickness lately.”
As he heads into his critical 17U offseason, Yost will once again play with Unfinished Business. He’s been playing with them since eighth-grade.
“I’d just like to get looked at,” he said. “I really want to play college basketball.”
