A 6-foot-5 wing with inside and outside ability, Evans says he’ll likely play with All Iowa Attack again this summer, and hopes to add to his list of suitors.
“Recently I’ve gotten a couple letters from Northwestern (IA), Briar Cliff, and Morningside. And I’ve heard from University of Chicago and a couple D3 schools. I haven’t had a ton of interest yet. I talked to the Morningside coach on the phone and have gotten quite a few letters from Coach Korver at Northwestern,” said Evans.
“I’m not super worried about it right now, things will play out this summer and fall into place I guess. I would like to play college basketball and I’m hoping this summer I pick up a little more interest.”
The good-sized guard described what his playing style is, and where he’ll need to see the most improvements before heading into his senior season.
“I think my strengths are attacking, anytime I take the ball to the hoop it works out better for me. And I think I can see the floor pretty well,” said Evans.
“I need to take care of the ball better than I do. I had a lot of turnovers this year, so if I get that taken care of things should be better.”
The experienced wing averaged 17.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 8.9 rebounds per game for the Wildcats as a junior.
“I’m the tallest kid on the team, and it always helps it I’m aggressive rebounding. It makes things work out better offensively and defensively,” said Evans.
“I was used more as a leader this season too which is good. I was the main scorer on the team and nobody on the team had a ton of varsity experience, so it helped that I had some.”
