“It was unforgettable, what I’ll remember most was how much fun we had as teammates, how much fun we had playing whether it was practice or games, we made the best of the time we had together,” Gavin said about the season.
On a balanced team Gavin averaged 14.2 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and 1.5 steals a game shooting 54 percent from the floor, 68 percent of the foul line, and made 12 shots at the arc (31 percent).
“I got more physical, confidence grew, and it was nice getting a bigger role this year to show what I could do,” Schroeder said. “I have to get bigger for college and just keep getting in the gym as much as possible.”
Last year Gavin averaged nine points and five boards so he improved his numbers while the talented youth (Owen and Noah King) played bigger roles mixing with seniors Colton Lampert and Schroeder played their roles well.
Gavin’s next step is figuring out where he will play in the MIAC next year.
“Right it’s between Gustavus and St. John’s right now,” Schroeder said. “I’ve visited both and we are trying to find another time for a visit for both of them.
“I’m going to wait to hear back on how much financial aid I’m going to get and price is going to play a big factor. So I’ll probably choose soon after I learn the total costs of each.”
