Continue ReadingDeer Valley High School had an up and down season with many sophomores earning playing time and starting roles. Despite their up and down season, they demonstrated that there is a high ceiling for this group and it has left the state waiting for what comes next due to this group. One of the members of the group is 6’7″ Sophomore F/C Bryce Davis.
Davis has a soft touch around the rim and good footwork. By accounts from multiple coaches, he is coachable and a great young man who takes a lot of pride in what he does.
His length and size creates a lot of problems for opposing teams as he is able to take up space on the defensive end of the court and rebound the basketball at a high level. His potential and ceiling are quite high, and he should be poised for a breakout season.
As it currently stands, Davis has received interest from “[Grand Canyon State], Portland State, and Eastern Washington.”
With the intent to take his game to a new level as he wants “to play against top competition [that will] ultimately get myself better,” he intends to play for the Compton Magic. Davis really wants to make the most of this summer as he wants to come back next season “a different, even better player in all aspects.” He is hoping that this improved game will increase his recognition and potential to play at the next level.
Davis is a very talented prospect who does not appear to have reached his full potential. His time on the travel circuit will hopefully assist him in garnering the attention that he seeks. At this point, he is most likely a Mid-Division-II/NAIA-DI player.
