- In this article we made predictions on who would win big games. Went 8-2 with the two impurities being Carroll getting a big win on the road vs Wossman to tie them in district 2-3A and Eunice won at Port Barre to take the lead in district 5-3A.
- Episcopal got a big with to make 8-2A a tie up top behind 22 points from Chris Beckman Jr. Freshman star for Dunham, Jordan Wright had 15 points and led the 3rd quarter comeback that eventually fell short.
- Lamar Peters and Landry-Walker continues their rise with the win over West Jefferson and a district 8-5A title. Meanwhile, St. Paul’s took care of Slidell on the road to go undefeated in their 6-5A district.
- Nationally ranked sophomore PG Javonte Smart continues to score at an incredible clip with 45 points Friday night at Walker. After two triple doubles two weeks ago, he’s averaged 41.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 5.5 apg, 3.5 spg, 1.5 bpg in the 4 games since.
- University High continued their run with a district win Saturday where senior forwards Wayde Sims and Jalen Johnson continue to be unstoppable. Peabody in 3A remains unstoppable as well. Showdown for state looming?
- in 1A, Lafayette Christian looks to be the real front-runner with everyone just looking for a shot. Meanwhile, in 4A it is legitimately an open race where anything could happen despite there being a couple favorites.
- Riverside is using this last week before playoffs begin to really gear up. They finish district on Tuesday then play 3A power UHigh and 4A power Edna Karr on Wednesday and Friday respectively.
This is it for regular season. The last week before playoffs. Plenty of district remain undecided and one game playoffs to win district could occur this weekend making for a great end to the regular season.
