There was no change made to the top 5 this time around, but plenty of revamping to the rest of the rankings. We also added 50 players, extending the list from 50 to 100. These guys have an ever-important 16U grassroots season ahead of them – look for even more shakeup then.

Sioux City East forward Van Rees has emerged as a potential mega star, and has made the highest debut of anyone in the state — regardless of class — in our new wave of rankings, he checks in at No.6. Other notable debuts include; Derick Diggins (12), Nathan Johnson (16), Carter Stevens (17), Jordan Lake (22), Johnny Supple (23), and Garrett Sturtz (25)
Jumping 29 spots, all the way up to No.11 is Cedar Rapids Washington point guard Hunter Strait. He’s averaging 13.3 points per game this season with the Warriors, and leads the team in steals, and assists.
Elijah Hazekamp jumped four substantial spots up to No.7 – he’s nearly averaging a double-double for Bishop Heelan, and is set for a big 16U season with the Barnstormers.
Hazekamp’s teammate at Bishop Heelan, Jack Boever, leaped seven spots up to No. 13. Good size and superb shooting make him a noteworthy prospect.
Matching Strait for the largest jump from the last installment of rankings is Glenwood’s Nate Mohr. The 6-foot point guard is putting up terrific numbers this season — 17.6 points, 5 assists, 2.2 steals per game — and he moved from No. 44 to No. 15 because of it.
Boyer Valley point guard Joe Weber is the class’ second leading scorer (20.9 ppg), and he’s also shooting the deep ball well at 43 percent. He moved up eight spots to No. 18.
A budding star in the CIML, Fort Dodge point guard Malcolm Clayton has jumped 20 spots all the up to No. 20. The 5-foot-11 sophomore is averaging 9.4 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.8 steals per game for the Dodgers.
Buried in Iowa City West’s ridiculous wave of talent, 6-foot-5 small forward Hakeem Odunsi is routinely dunking on folks down at the sophomore level, and would likely start with many varsity teams in the state. He’s up 18 spots to No. 30.
