the 5-foot-11 point guard is averaging 13.1 points, and five assists per game this season with the Tigers, and shooting the ball well, connecting on 39 3s at a 45 percent clip.
He’ll play with Kingdom Hoops this summer for his 17U grassroots season, and he’s got his goals set on some Division II interest.
“I’ve had a little bit of exposure, and I’ve had some NAIA looks and then a couple D3 schools. Mainly Briar Cliff and Central College; just a lot of letters from Briar Cliff, and a couple emails and letters from Central,” said Conrad.
“My goal is to play at the D2 level, because I think I have enough talent, and I think if I work on my game enough I can get there. That’s where I see myself in the next six months.”
Conrad also leads the Tigers in steals this season, and was quick to mention defense when describing his playing style.
“I think on the defensive end I have solid lateral quickness and I can guard the ball pretty well. And offensively I do well creating for others and creating my own shot,” said Conrad, who mentioned where he needs the most work.
“I would definitely say I need to hit the weight room. I’m really skinny right now, and if I got stronger I think it could help my team quite a bit.”
After spending last season playing with the sophomore squad at Lakeville South in Minnesota, and he explained to PHI why he made the move to Adel, and what his role has been with his new team.
“My parents just had a bunch of relatives that lived in Iowa, and Adel was kind of in between all the cities that they live in, so that’s why we moved down here,” said Conrad.
“I’m one one the more vocal guys on the team. And one of my jobs is to keep everybody in check night-in and night-out, and just to bring everything I can to the court, and bring intensity.”
