The 6-foot-2 combo guard played sparingly last season for the Wolverines, but has become vital to their offensive scheme this season as the second leading scorer.
Bolden has played with Showtime Hoopers in past offseasons, and will play with them again this spring and summer, where he hopes to get noticed by college coaches.
“I’ve been getting letters in the mail from Central College, and Nebraska Wesleyan, that’s it for now,” said Bolden. “I’m hoping it (recruitment) comes together really good, I hope college coaches find me and see what I’m all about. And I’m hoping I can just find a way to get away, and get out of town.”
He explained to PHI what his game predicates on, on where he feels most comfortable within an offense.
“What makes me good is my ability to drive, I really like to drive and get to the hoop, but I really like to shoot too. My game just depends on how the defense is playing me, and who is guarding me,” said Bolden.
“I’m more comfortable at the point, I like running the point and setting up the offense. I’m comfortable playing off the ball too if there’s someone else out there who can run point.”
He added: “I could see myself being a shooting guard at the next level, but if I could really get my handles down and show coaches that I can play point guard at the level, that would be great for me in the long run.”
Bolden is averaging 10.6 points, and 2.4 rebounds for Sioux City West this season, and is hoping he can help his team make a surprise run to the state tournament.
“My role on the team is to help my teammates around me,” said Bolden. “I had a really good first half of the season, but the second half I’ve had an ankle injury that I’ve been playing through, I’ve bounced back from it and now I’m just doing whatever I can to help get my team to state.”
